(EN) “Charity and justice are not in opposition, nor do they cancel each other out: charity, the first duty of every Christian, not only does not make us superfluous, but calls for and completes justice, which is cardinal virtue for every man.”

(EN) “Childhood is not just any period of human life, which can be isolated from the whole artificially; as a child is flesh of the flesh of his parents, so are all the children a living part of society. It is for this reason that what is at stake in childhood is the fate of the whole of life, of the child's life and of ours, that is, of the life of all. Let us therefore serve childhood, valuing life and choosing »for« life at every level, and let us help childhood, presenting before the eyes and to the vulnerable and sensitive hearts of the little ones the noblest and highest things in life.”

During the 1987 papal visit in the United States of America, Saint John Paul II was introduced to Tony Meléndez, a Nicaraguan-born armless singer, guitar player and songwriter who sang a song entitled “Never Be the Same”.
“Tony, you are truly a courageous young man. You are giving hope to all of us. My wish to you, is to continue of giving this hope to all, all the people.”

(HU) „A megbocsátás gyöngeségnek látszik; valójában azonban mind a megbocsátóban, mind a megbocsátást elfogadóban nagy lelki erőt és mindenre kész erkölcsi bátorságot tételez föl. Ahelyett, hogy megalázná a személyt, a megbocsátás teljesebb és gazdagabb emberséghez vezeti, mely ezek után képes önmagában felfedezni a Teremtő fénysugarát.”
(Üzenet a béke 35. világnapjára.

¿Qué me dices?
